A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMPUTER SUPPORT TECH

Provides technology support and user training on network, computer hardware, software, telecommunications, network interface, other technology equipment, and related computer matters. Acts as a Help Desk customer support for Computer, Tablets and phones (owned and BOYD) on basic administration, installations and repair functions as needed. Serves as a general IT specialist supporting other departments such as day programs (Draper, South Salt Lake, Tooele) and remote workers in Salt Lake and Tooele valleys.

This post is primarily an on-site position, but Hybrid work from home schedule available, will discuss more if selected for interview candidates must live in Salt Lake County. This post requires reliable personal transportation, good driving record and regular and reliable attendance.

Maintain Desktop Systems and Accommodate User Needs: (1) troubleshoot help desk requests and correct hardware and software problems; (2) Configure and maintain desktop hardware; (3) knowledge of user software needs and ability to install and maintain software; (4) Integration with a variety of printers and shared printers; (5) Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot email operations; (6) Maintain daily log of errors and files.

• Support Cloud Services operation including server systems Google Workspace (business gmail, docs, user account access, etc.) and Therap (PHI system).
• Must have the ability to periodically work variable hours. Most services are required during normal business hours M-F, however occasional customer support and site hardware upgrades and maintenance may require work outside these hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years old or older
• Own a smartphone
• Reliable transportation and a good driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• 2 Years of computer repair/software support
• 2 Year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• Experience supporting mobile devices and desktop
• Experience administering Google Workspace
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
